Just plain weird1953 viewsYou don't get to myage and not see things most folks would think odd but, this is really andodd thing.
The water just squirts out of the cliff face, not over the top edge of a cliff but, out of the cliff face and below it's top.

When a dam was built on a "U" turn in the river and the water backed up, due to limestone between the curves that form the "U" water started to seep through to emerge in the wall of the now lower river.
The following photos are the results. Note the water comes out of the cliff.

Backbone Rock2514 viewsLocated on TN 133 about 5 miles from Damascus, VA.
The arch is man made for old logging trains. Note the size or the tunnel compared to the lady standing in it. Also notice the notch in the top of the tunnel. That is so the smoke stack of the train could clear the top.
While visiting the park, there is a waterfalls behind the photographer and a cascade in the park behind the lady.Aug 13, 2011
