Old Albatross

This site is dedicated to waterfalls, mountains, an old aviators memories, with lots of poetic liberties, some just plain made up, and interesting places to visit.

Doug Hale
On 6 June, 1944 Doug Hale stood up. He stood up when he drove his landing craft ashore, delivering young men who will never grow old.

He stated he bent over to release the "Dogs" that held the ramp and missed a bullet that struck right behind him

He hasn't quit, still maintains his half of Guest River Railtrail at Coeburn, Va.

DOUG HALE, STAND UP! Now Doug take a bow........and thanks Doug.
