Attack Flaminken!2171 viewsOldalbatross being attacked by what appears to be a cross between a flamingo and a chicken. Well, there is a flamingo in Victoria Butterfly Garden and there are farms nearby that I am sure have yard birds.
I kind of think IT, whatever IT is, liked my shoe laces. My guess is that IT doesn't eat butterfly's.

Watched a pair of King fishers feeding and mating for quiet some time but, photographing them was very tough to do since they rarely sit still and were at such a distance.
The photo was taken on my recent trip to Middle Tennessee near Rock Island.

This very day, Sep. 7 2011 two cougars were killed by the Wildlife folks very near our location.
One News report stated they were backed up by the RCMP for crowd control ??? What the heck were they doing, preventing a stampede back to Victoria?
Actually, old Wally here (a name I gave to this obviously dangerous critter) showed up on our B&B lawn and started to explain the rules of engagement to BJ and Myself.
BJ defended her crew, namely me, admirably.
